A collection of short works from February

six more weeks:
like the icy waves
feel all your bones settle in
enveloped by blue
2/5/26
happy birthday 🌺:
air fills with slow light
candles count what’s missing now
stillness holds you near
2/7/26
where motion is birthed
all doubts no longer hold sway
imposter, no more
2/7/26
patterns:
oh boy, here she goes
talking about the weather
meaning something else
2/9/26
deep blue devotion:
reaching from the deep
gentle grip on rusted hulls
love in the abyss
2/12/26
10-word story:
Underneath the silent frozen lake, a fire rages without permission.
2/12/26
Hugo in haiku: 🐾
distinguished fellow
teeth bared, fierce tiger at heart
or maybe, mid-sneeze
2/13/26
bright blooms in these times?
the audacity of spring
despite dear, despite
2/15/26
impossibly blue
the sudden warmth crossing lines
like the sky forgot
2/16/26
another blue haiku: 💙
lapis lazuli
swirled in winter’s parting sighs
spring’s deep thaw awaits
2/18/26
at this time of year
with the change in the weather
I am underneath 🤧
2/21/26
sad robot: 🤖
I sent you a heart
error 404 not found
now my circuits ache
2/22/26
Like the Pothos:
variegated hearts
unwilling to suffer fools
poison if devoured

Lyrical Day/Thanks Subscribers:
This darkness can’t last,
though the coup is in bloom.
For most of our lifetime,
we’ve lived quite entombed.
A masterclass in silence,
shuttered minds filled with dread.
With desks that stayed clean,
while the lights roared in red.
We buried our kindness,
filed feelings for tax.
But these digital hearts,
found the soul in the cracks.

Lyrical Day Part II:
Beyond is death,
but the living is harder.
When the debt goes unpaid,
I have nothing to barter.
‘Mean it,’ you dared,
not a threat, but a warrant.
To face down the heat,
of this rhythmic torrent.
I fell for the magic,
then rolled off the floor.
Classic avoidance,
I bolt for the door.
2/25/26
shadow lullaby:
ink spilled branches sway
silent waving in the dark
lulling me to sleep
2/27/26
the moon on a string
suspending my disbelief
as daylight smiles back
2/27/26
knotted hands outstretched
craving a taste of beauty
fleeting as it is
Thanks for being here.
Until next time,

It might be the fever, but it has been fun to reread and remember where I was and wha…
More nature poetry?
A little different?
Re-wilding
The knots are loosening. Ancient joints of oak and iron finally surrendering their grip on the myth of wholeness. The sealed away. The safe.

What a beautiful collection!
Wonderful!
